Fetus coin purse
I don’t carry a coin purse, but then again, I don’t tend to accessorize with knit representations of unborn humans, either.
Not to knock the fetus coin purse. I am sure it will find a home with someone out there.

That’s beachin’
My fashion column on Friday is about words and fashion.
Here is an example of how the two intersect to bring joy into the universe.

Is it summer yet?
Chip away the winter
It’s getting warmer. That means it’s time to bring our bodies in for some regular maintenance: a soak, scrub, buff and shine, pluck and polish. I might bring out my sledgehammer and power washer, too.
Did you know Ten20 Spa in Boulder offers Lousy Weather Discount Days?
E-mail weather@ten20.com and they will send you a note when it qualifies as a snow day.
Also, 5-7 p.m. every Wednesday, Ten20 shows “girl movies.” You know, love, twirling, dreams, romance, la de da. Oh yeah, and of course catfights, tears, break-ups…
The movie selection includes “13 going on 30,” “Sleepless in Seattle” and “Raising Helen.” Personally, I am waiting for the “Babysitters Club.”

Work it, work it
Here are some more faves from Rags Consignment in Boulder. These are some ways to spice up your work wardrobe.

Blue and purple floral print Burning Torch blazer, $62.50.
What makes it stand out: Funky buttons and sequin stitching on the pockets adds some edginess — and femininity.

Bica Cheia cord military-style jacket, $32.50.
What makes it fun: The big buttons up the front.

Sheer polkadot blouse, $42.50.
How to wear it: With a cami underneath, obviously. Put it over skinny jeans and cinch with a thick white belt or chunky gold necklace.
Here is a close up view:

As seen in Denver: Say what?
Maybe most people who hit up this bowling alley on Tennyson Street can’t read.
Do you notice something(s) wrong with this sign?

Rags Consignment picks
Here are some clothing picks by Rags Consignment’s newest stylist, Livia Hooson.
More to come.

Lace Felina halter top with scoop back, $24.50.
Why we like it: A sexy way to show off feminine shoulders and your back.

Retro Brighton belt, $19.50.
At first, this old-school sort of Stetzon-esque belt seems an unlikely choice. Which is, of course, why we like it. The details are interesting (a unicorn?) and when paired with something mod and edgy, this belt becomes a hot accessory.

As seen outside of Amante: I wish I were a John Deer bicycle

Talk about a fashion statement.
The best part about this bike is that the rider is not a tractor-driving hick, but rather from P.G. County, Washington, D.C., a pretty rought area not exactly known for its fields of wheat.

As seen in Prospect: Funny wedding juxtaposition
Notice anything fantastic about this photo?
I took this during a bridal shoot in Longmont’s Prospect subdivision.

As seen in a hardware store: An official duct tape wallet
The beauty of the duct tape wallet is that it is raw, rugged, random and kind of junky.
Then some business goes and makes an “official” one. I saw this at a hardware store in Denver. You can now buy a duct tape wallet for $5.99.
Or make one for about 8 cents.
Your choice.

Put on your Easter best
My fashion column on Friday is about Easter clothes, and my dark tale of being crammed into a bunny suit for an Easter egg hunt.
Here are some tips from Audrey Shapiro with the Burlington Coat Factory on selecting the best Easter fashions for the little ones. Note: They don’t involve rabbit suits.
Shapiro says:
Remember three things:
1. Style: Dressing up is in. The styles are beautiful dresses with elegant details of bows, ruffles, flowing layers and exquisite embroidery for girls and tailored suits and vest sets for boys with coordinating dress shirts and ties.
2. Color: Easter is all about spring. Pastels are it this season. For your little prince charming, pair a pant and vest set with a peach colored shirt and matching tie. For the princess in your life, try floral prints with pinks and lilacs.
3. Affordability: Kids grow fast. Easter is a special holiday and you don’t want to scrimp on dressing up your little ones, but you don’t want to break the bank either.
